The Shangri – La Hospitality at the Traders Hotel

Its a weekday already?!

How fast a weekend passes is something you’ll realize when you reach your work place the next day. *sigh* Nevertheless the quick and short weekend was great 😀

Today I thought I’ll share pictures of my weekend stay at the Traders Hotel, Shangri La, Abu Dhabi. This hotel was discovered by my sister who I must say does have the habit of discovering amazing places in the most unexpected of areas. One such summer when she decided to take me away for my birthday weekend 2 years back, she discovered this amazing hotel. The Traders Hotel by Shangri La to be honest is the cheaper way of experiencing the Shangri – La hospitality that is world famous i believe. Though this seems to be the business hotel division of Shangri – La Resorts, it never fails to disappoint. A 4 star hotel in a quiet corner of the city, Traders Hotel is one of those hotels my family can never say no to. After a couple of months of saving aside for a weekend at this place, we finally made it this weekend.

The hotel boasts of standard and club rooms and some luxurious deluxe rooms and suites made for every budget and need. Apart from this it has an all day dining restaurant named Afya, where breakfast is served; a pool bar serving light snacks and tropical drinks all day; a 24 hour operating lobby bar and an outside lounge for those who wish to eat and drink while enjoying the pleasant breeze and the breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding hotels. All this a midst light music. Summer still hasn’t set in much in the UAE, therefore making it ideal for families who want to enjoy last minute weekend getaways.

I left for the hotel, directly from work itself feeling extremely odd that I would be checking in later than other guests at the hotel and with work clothes. With my hair all messed up, I headed to my room , freshened up and headed straight to the Traders Lounge where snacks and drinks are served all day long for those with club room bookings. This is one lounge you will never feel like leaving. Located on the 9th floor of the hotel, the stunning views of the sea and the surrounding hotels make you literally race to the lounge shortly after check in to get the tables with the best views. And then to add to it, free snacks and drinks? Who would wanna leave 😉 Fortunately for me , my parents had already checked in earlier in the afternoon and managed to reserve the best seats at the lounge 😀

A luxurious club room with club access serving unlimited snacks and drinks all day, a great sea view , a bathroom with 3 divisions, a private beach, and an awesomely long breakfast buffet spread ! what more can one ask for? Traders Hotel has never given me the slightest excuse to be disappointed. Every few months when the booking rates drop we make our way to the Traders Hotel for a weekend even though its just a 20 minute drive for us from home. Its a whole different world out there. After the much relaxed weekend stay , we are back to work .

Not ending without a mention of all the housekeeping staff. Upon reaching our room, we were surprised to find a bottle of wine, traditional arabic sweets and a huge basket of fruits awaiting us 🙂
